Mark Edwin Woolston

Mark Woolston photo In his original training as a neuroscientist, Mark investigated the physical and psychological bases of visual perception. After some intervening years consulting mostly on the human interface to computers, Mark undertook the Associate Diploma (Visual Arts) at the Canberra Institute of the Arts Wood Workshop under the tuition of George Ingham.

Mark's work still investigates the marvel of how the brain interprets and re-interprets visual input, as well as indulging his interest in the relationship between simplicity and complexity in nature, while maintaining a commitment to functionality in his designs.

Mark is a Canberra-based designer/maker producing mostly exhibition and commission pieces from his own workshop.
